Message from Revd. Andy Earl – Pause for thought

Last week saw me returning to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, as I drove through its portals and stood in front of Old College with its imposing cannons and portico, I was transported back to my time there.  Not always a positive set of memories.  My visit coincided with the current batch of Officer Cadets sitting their Regimental Selection Board, some were elated and got the Regiment they hoped for, other disappointed when they didn’t.

I came across a quote from the Dalai Lama: “Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck”.

In these uncertain and often trying times we need to remember that an aeroplane takes off against the wind not with it.

So whatever challenges cross your way hold fast to the one who was, and is and always will be.

God Bless.  Padre Andy
