MOTHERS' UNION

We have a flourishing branch of Mothers’ Union at St. Mary’s.   We are proud to be part of a worldwide organisation, which works to support family life in the local community but which also has representation at the UN and campaigns against gender- based violence and female genital mutilation.

We meet on the second Tuesday afternoon of each month at 2pm, with a varied programme including speakers and outings. We support Doncaster Women’s Refuge, as well as diocesan and international projects, such as the Literacy project and AFIA, providing a holiday or day out for families in need.  We also support general St. Mary’s activities and projects.

During ‘Lockdown’ we have increased considerably our support for the Women’s Refuge with the provision of clothing and household goods given through the generosity of many in the local community.

We are a friendly bunch and to join us you must be baptised but you don’t need to be a mother or even a woman!

If you are interested in joining us please telephone Margaret Culloden on 01302 742180.
