We have a flourishing branch of Mothers’ Union at St. Mary’s. We are proud to be part of a worldwide organisation, which works to support family life in the local community but which also has representation at the UN and campaigns against gender- based violence and female genital mutilation.
We meet on the second Tuesday afternoon of each month at 2pm, with a varied programme including speakers and outings. We run a coffee morning once a month to provide a meeting place for people on their own or young mothers with babies. We support Doncaster Women’s Refuge, as well as diocesan and international projects, such as the Literacy project and AFIA, providing a holiday or day out for families in need. We also support general St. Mary’s activities and projects.
We are a friendly bunch and to join us you must be baptised but you don’t need to be a mother or even a woman!
If you are interested in joining us please telephone Margaret Culloden on 01302 742180.
